Trip to see Melinda & Washington, D.C.

Melinda, Aubrey, Dad, and Mom enjoying the best pizza at Matchbox Pizza. We would travel back to D.C. just to eat pizza at this restaurant. This is one of Melinda's favorite places to eat.

We took a tour of NPR and saw one of their recording studios. Melinda is a summer intern at NPR. She also got us into a live broadcast of All Things Considered. It was fascinating!

One of the best Thai restaurants in the U.S. is in Arlington, Virginia, close to where Melinda lives and the hotel we stayed in.

Dave & Mary Ann's 30th Wedding Anniversary

For our anniversary we stayed at a B&B on the southern coast of Oregon at Port Orford. We had a great time exploring this quaint town and surrounding area.We took a tour of the Port Orford Lighthouse which is in full operation today.

Here we are inside the top of the lighthouse where it was very bright and warm.

Dave is standing by a restored Coast Guard boat that was used to save stranded people in the ocean. It is part of the Coast Guard Museum in Port Orford.

This is an old Coast Guard Station that is now a museum. As you can see, the men had very little privacy.

Port Orford has a dry dock where the boats are lifted in and out of the water by a large crane each day.

The beautiful beaches were very rocky and rugged.

At Sunset Bay we found a lovely garden that reminded us of Butchart Gardens in Victoria, B.C.

Our New Darling Granddaughter Fiona

We got to meet our newest granddaughter Fiona Andersen last Thursday, February 27th. How wonderful it is to hold a precious new granddaughter for the first time. She is beautiful!

Here we are with Evan, Driel, and cute baby Fiona. Fiona was born on January 27, 2009 so she was a month old for her blessing which took place on March 1. When Fiona was born, she weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 18 " long.

Here is sweet Moriah with her daddy sitting on their front step. Moriah will be two years old next month. She really likes Elmo and puppies.

After Fiona's blessing we had a luncheon at Evan & Driel's lovely new home. Moriah's friend Macey was there with her parents.
